Some notes on Publishing/Printing

Two of my readers have now left comments about InstaBooks so here's the link. BTW, if someone has used this service to produce a blook, let me know!

I found a video where a fella puts a hardcover book in a clothes dryer and then raves about its condition after tumbling for hours. The video is part of the hype for MemoryPress, a division of FamilyLearn which brings us pyxlin.

Mashable included MemoryPress in a sequence on scrapbooking.

MemoryPress is a recently launched service that lets you create physical books, scrapbooks, if you will, with its Mashup tools.

The editor has all the necessary tools for document creation, which seems to be from a different service than MemoryPress. This can be somewhat confusing, as it seems like the two aspects of the services aren’t quite interconnected, but the two options are part of the FamilyLearn site. At any rate, you won’t be able to try all the new features of MemoryPress, as they’re not all live yet.

Jeffrey Harmon wrote on the Memory Press blog, "It is great to be recognized, even if MemoryPress isn’t exactly an 'Online Scrapbook'. ... MemoryPress is a typesetting system, like a user-friendly version of TeX, Adobe InDesign, or QuarkXpress. MemoryPress is built to help you professionally publish your personal or family history ... ."

The Mashable article has links to two scrapbooking program articles, one obviously misnamed "Create and Publish Your Stories with Panraven." The other is Scrapblog.
